Antithyroid antibody (TPO-Ab) Status in Type 2 Diabetic Patients

Background: Presence of thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPO-Ab) in type 2 diabetic patients is a risk factor for future development dysfunction.Objective: To observe status patients.Materials & Methods: This cross sectional study was carried out the Department Physiology, Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka from July 2016 to June 2017. Total 60 subjects including male and female, age ranged 40 years were included this study, among them 30 non-diabetic patients.Results: In mean serum TPO-Ab level significantly (<0.01) higher comparison that apparently healthy uncontrolled controlled but difference not statistically significant. However, On other hand, 6.67% had positive whereas, 11.76% TPO-Ab. There no correlation between HbA1c.Conclusion: The present reveals may patients. KYAMC Journal Vol. 14, No. 01, April 2023: 35-38
